Trincomalee ත්‍රිකුණාමලය Tasty Trinco

Trincomalee has always been a crossroad of cultures. A city with a colourful history that brought Indian princes, Arab traders and European merchants to its shores. They all left their footprint and even today Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians call Trinco home. It is a great place to try different types of food and be introduced to Tamil cuisine: sweet, salty and spicy!

Sri Lanka and the Netherlands have a long-standing history. Through this project, we highlight the many marks of a rich past that survived into the present; structures, people, livelihoods, food and the stories that embody the spirit of this place. Unravelling history through the lens of youth is more than just a reminder of our rich heritage, but a vision for the future of Trincomalee.
