Learn to ride the waves for a true Bali surfing experience

Bali surf

Surfing first came to Bali in 1936, when Californian surfer Bob Koke moved from the shores of Hawaii and set up home in Bali, opening the Bali Hotel on the then empty Kuta Beach. Much has happened since and the island has become a true surfer’s mecca.

Learn to surf

The calm waters and gentle reef breaks of Sanur’s sheltered lagoon are ideal for learning the ropes of surfing. School of Surf offers lessons in kite surfing, wakeboarding, body-boarding and stand-up paddle boarding. Courses cater for all levels from advanced riders to absolute beginners; who knows by the end of the day you can catch a wave.Best season is the wet season (November to February) when surfers can take advantage of the offshore winds from the West.
