A 2000s vibe
Many in Yangon remember when Dagon Centre was built. One of the city’s first shopping malls with a modern selection of shops under one roof. Now a bit outdated, it’s still a good value-for-money place, which is why it remains popular among the young local crowd. Stuffed toys, game consoles or fashion, it’s all here.
Not-so-secret date spot
Tucked into the second floor of Dagon Center 1 is a J-Donuts, the first local Donuts chain. This place is especially popular for couples, not just because of the sweet treats, but the air-conditioned booths offer some much needed privacy in a city where space is at a premium.
