A popular local joint for midnight snacks
- G/F, 40A Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong
- Open daily 6pm - 2:30am
Night time snack
Wing Hing only opens at night and closes at 2am. Popular among locals for night time snacks, it’s one of the few typical corner shops still standing amidst the skyrocketing urban jungle. No aircon, just a few tables and chairs, but here you get the soy milk and fried dough sticks in town. Don’t be surprised to find queue at 12am.
Few food choices here. Wing Hing only has three items on the menu: soy milk (豆漿), soy pudding (豆腐花) and fried dough sticks (油條). The silky-smooth milk is freshly made using a traditional stone mill and the crispy dough sticks come from a kitchen just around the corner.
Goodbye Yue Man Square
Wing Hing has fallen victim to the largest urban renewal plan in Hong Kong history. They were among hundreds of longstanding tenants who had to make way for the redevelopment of Yuen Man Square. The lingering soy milk smell is now something of the past, as the old couple sold their last bowl of soy milk on the 28th of February.
