Secret shopping street

Hidden between two Camel Paint buildings is a small alleyway with discount shops and cheap eats. A testimony to Kwun Tong’s past as a textile production hub, this is where factories sell their left-over stock. The Camel Building alley is not just super popular among the Kwun Tong office and factory workers, but well beyond. Mr. Lam who works in the area says: “Everybody in Hong Kong knows this alley because of the factory outlets, then the restaurants came in. I remember the promotion for $1 oysters, it attracted so many people. It has been crowded ever since.”

Go shopping!

Shops come and go here all the time, but all the big sports and footwear brands have a discount shop here. In the industrial buildings around Hoi Yuen Road you find many distributers and warehouse stock clearances. The prices are low and the choices big.

Our favourites

Hungry? Canto style sushi places do a roaring trade here. A current favourite is Tenohira Sushi, they offer good lunch deals, and waffle soufflé Japanese siphon style.
