Yau Tak Emporium is one of the few remaining 'China Goods Store' in Kowloon City with over half a century of history. This is the place you come to for Chinese-produced brands and goods.
These shops have always been very popular among locals, and, quite ironically, many Chinese immigrants living in Hong Kong bought items from the stores and sent them back to their relatives in China!
Follow the modern pace
It is increasingly difficult for these shops to survive today's retail landscape. Michael, the second generation of the Yau Tak family, is fighting the odds. He's set up an online shopping platform with printing, embroidery and packaging design services to stay competitive.
Be like Bruce
Yau Tak Emporium is an excellent place to buy an original Bruce Lee-style singlet, the signature of the working class. Back then, T-shirts were only for those who had earned higher education degrees.
