iEat Lok Hau Fook Restaurant

Favourite location to film triad movies

Many of our customers who moved overseas visit us whenever they are back in Hong Kong. We are very proud of what we offer.

Triad scene

You don't just come to Lok Hau Fook for the food but also to soak up the restaurant's 1960s atmosphere. Their classic interior makes Lok Hau Fook a popular location for shooting triad movies. Here, Guan Yu (關公), the protector of those who go out to battle, is omnipresent. Mr Lee, the second-generation owner, is very proud of the old décor: "We want to keep it, as much as we can, in its original condition."

Old-school Chiu Chow food

The restaurant has always been a favourite hangout for the local Chiu Chow community. The food and menu are distinctly old-school. "We don't do fusion food. People come here for the authentic old-style dishes and flavours," Mr Lee says. "Many of our customers who moved overseas visit us when they're back in Hong Kong. We are very proud of what we offer."

Our favourites

Try any dish with the restaurant's signature marinade sauce. Made according to a 60-year-old recipe, its flavour comes from star anise, orange peel and pepper. Wash it down Chiu Chow-style with Kung Fu tea!
