iSurprise Kantor Pos

Post office, capsule hotel and pop-up art gallery

Tribute to the elegant clean industrial design of the old town post office

Kantor Pos

Already for more than 3 centuries this is the local post office. The first one, built in 1746 was replaced in 1929 by this iconic white orange building by architect Baumgartner.

Go Up

Ground floor is still a post office, but the upper floors are now home to restaurants, souvenir shops, a gallery and capsule hotel. We like Batavia Market with Indonesian fare, vegan friendly dishes and a selection of healthy juice that are perfect refreshment for a sunny day. If you are a backpacker looking for privacy Bobobox capsule hotel is your place.

Postal volley

After office hours no one rushes home here. The staff happily hangs around for a game of volleyball or badminton at the indoor court behind the counters. Follow the signs to the toilet to find the court.
