This compound is where many of the railway workers live, around 100 families in total. The housing is very basic, with very few amenities, but is home to a wonderful close-knit community. With a smile, you are very welcome here.
Meet a nat
Around here you will see small wooden shrines. These are for the Nankarine Mei Daw Nat (Venus Nat). The spirit of the female buffalo. A long time ago she rescued the life of a young prince by feeding him like one of her own. She even ended up giving her life for him when he was in danger. The prince created a buffalo head in her everlasting memory
