Jaffna யாழ்ப்பாணம் The Wanderer

I’ve watched the humans of Jaffna evolve. Seen them during moments of joy, love, and grief. Seen them change in shape and size, sprout and wither with age. To them, I’m a place to meet, a branch to climb and a protector from the sun and its scorching heat. They speak declarations, promises and wishes to beings of which I know not—their different deities, what are they? Each tale has taken root in my consciousness and encouraged a feeling of growing curiosity. A thirst worse than during the summer drought has taken hold of me. To satiate this, I shall seek my answers at the sacred places where these humans gather. To whomever joins me, may this journey inspire growth!
