Charming colonial red-brick station
Colonial train station
Kyeemindaing Railway Station is unique. It is one of the oldest in the country. It was built in the late 1870s with the opening of the 262 km Yangon to Pyay line by The Irrawaddy Valley State Railway that revolutionised transport and spearheaded the Burmese economy. You can’t miss it, it’s a transit station so every train stops here.
The picturesque red brick station with its signature white arches is a great spot to take pre-wedding photos. Check out the benches, one of the station workers handcrafted them out of old train tracks.
