Portuguese flavours
In collaboration with the Taipa Village Association, the Cultural Affairs Bureau invited Local artists Vong Tze Lai (Vitorino) and Jane to create murals on the Escada do Coxo in Taipa. Their creation shows colourful sardines and whitewashed cascades with the characteristic design of Portuguese bricks.
The details are exquisite, from a distance they look like real Portuguese floor tiles, only when you look close, you can see they are painted.
About the artists
Vitorino began to create murals in college, inspired by his personal experiences expressing himself through paint. Jane gets her inspiration from daily life and human characteristics. She likes to paint small town landscapes and personal portraits.
