Royal cemetery
This royal cemetery was purpose built in 1930 for the descendants of the Yogyakarta Keraton. Even today family members of the sultanate and court servants and artists are still buried here. Tip! when you visit remove your shoes and dress modestly.
Locals don’t like coming here, they call the cemetery siti sangar (frightening grounds).
