This is the mother of all markets: the oldest and grandest in Denpasar, right in the commercial heart of the city at the river crossing.
Fruit, spices and fabrics
The outside area of the market is reserved for fruit and vegetables. The first floor is a serious seafood destination, 2nd floor is for aromatic spices. But our favourite floors are the 3rd and 4th where you can find what is probably Denpasar’s largest and cheapest collection of fabrics, Bali Batik (made in Java!), and clothes for Hindu/Balinese ceremony. All of this complemented with sellers of offering equipment on every corner. A unique shopping experience!
