Community based tourism

Not just an ordinary kampung, but one where once the king's high-ranking officials used to live. Now catapulted to local fame as a tourism village, one of the popular ‘Green & Clean Kampung’ projects of governor Ibu Risma.

Green Kampung

The photogenic streets are home to some unique historic wooden houses, small shops and an old school building. Like many kampungs in Surabaya, it is a green and quiet pocket in the bustling city.

Kampung life

Fresh juice bar tempat istirahat – ‘a place to take a break’ – is a popular local hangout. One of the regulars, long time resident Pak Sabar Swastono gives tours that explain all about kampung life, urban farming and a unique water recycling system.
