Ratsada market is the thriving commercial heart of the old town. People come here for fresh produce, vegetables, fish and meat. In the afternoon the market also serves a popular snack bar: from sticky rice to fried chicken.
Lampang’s first department store
Opposite to the market was once the beautiful Maung Hpo Min house, Lampang’s first department store built by a Burmese millionaire who made his fortune in the timber business. In mid-2017, this department store was pulled down for new condominium development.
