Banceuy prison where Sukarno spent his nights in jail

This guard tower is the last remaining part of Bandung's notorious Banceuy prison built by the Dutch in 1871.
Here, freedom fighter Sukarno -who later became Indonesia’s first president- was detained by the Dutch colonial government in 1930 after criticising colonialism and imperialism through his political speeches.
