iDrink Gekko Bar

Deliciously crafted cocktails in a stunning heritage building

Original details

Enjoy a drink or a nice Japanese dinner at Gekko (meaning Moon Shine) on the ground floor of the mustard yellow Sofaer building. Gekko opened its doors in June 2014 and was one of the first examples of recent heritage preservation efforts in town. “We kept the original features such as the floor tiles, teak staircase and steel beams intact “ says Nico Elliot, who handled the complex renovation “the Sofaer legacy lives on in the pictures on the wall.“

We love the handcrafted cocktails here. What about a Hanami Old Fashioned or a fresh lemonade with a touch of aged Mandalay rum. Order some charcoal grilled chicken, bacon sticks or eggplant miso sticks on the side and you’re in for a long evening!
