iEat Sri Ananda Bahwan

Authentic South Indian breakfast

Indian breakfast

Sri Ananda first opened in 1990 selling simple South Indian fare. It became so popular that now it is a chain of restaurants. Their bestseller is the crispy thosai, have it plain or the more filling masala version. Thosai or Dosai is a type of flatbread made from a fermented batter. Its main ingredients are rice and black gram, served with a bowl of dhal and coconut chutney. Breakfast ends at 11 am so get your thosai orders in early, or stay a little longer, at lunch they serve their signature banana leaf rice and curry.

Hidden temple

Next door to the restaurant warehouse on Lorong Tokong, five minutes’ walk from the restaurant, is a red godown with a small Hindu Temple hidden inside.
