Hidden on the third floor of this old family home in Bogalayzay is Myanm/Art a small experimental art space, gallery and reading room. Myanm/Art embraces expression through different mediums from paintings to poetry and provides an exciting podium for emerging talent. Definitely worth a walk up the steep stairs, if only for the balcony overlooking beautiful Bogalayzay Street!

Myanm/Art also hosts MARCA fabulous resource center with hundreds of books referencing Asian art and Myanmar history, as well as a photography darkroom. One of the founders Nathalie Johnston says: “Myanmar’s cultural and artistic history is strong but nowhere exists a place where that strength is illustrated through collected records, images, and online access”.
